Mark Higgins

Mark Higgins, AIA, is a registered architect and principal in the firm of The Schemmer Associates Inc. He is the Executive Vice President of the firm's Facilities Division which includes the services of architecture, interior design, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering and facilities construction administration.

Mark graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1975, and has been with Schemmer for over 29 years. He has served in the role of project architect, project manager and principal-in-charge. Mark is a registered architect in Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois and Alabama. He is a corporate member of the American Institute of Architects and serves on the AIA's Academy of Architecture for Health and is a Post-Occupancy Evaluator for AIA's Design for Aging Knowledge Community. Mark is a Certified Construction Specifier by The Construction Specifications Institute.

Mark has extensive experience in key market areas of health care, life care, education and government. Mark was principal-in-charge on the new Eastern Nebraska Veterans Home in Bellevue, the 47-acre Villa St. Benedict Life Care campus in Lisle, Illinois, architect for numerous post-secondary educational institutions including UNL, UNMC and Metro Community College.
