Background:
Dr. Ken Merkel holds a Ph.D. in Systems Management from The Fielding Institute and several masters degrees in engineering and management. His industry experience is with the Lighting Division of the General Electric Company at Nela Park in East Cleveland, Ohio where he held various engineering and management positions. He is a graduate of GE's Manufacturing Management Program. His academic experience includes 16 years as chair of the Industrial Systems Department and Coordinator of the Master of Engineering Management Program. He is a registered professional engineer and certified Project Management Professional. He is an emeritus member of the National Defense Executive Reserve. His research interests are focused on project management issues.
