Background:
Prior to joining the University of Nebraska in 1998 to start up the new Architectural Engineering program, Dr. Yuill spent eight years in the Architectural Engineering program at Penn State University, where he taught courses in building energy systems and indoor air quality. Previous to going to Penn State, he spent fifteen years operating his own consulting firm specializing in research in the same two areas. At the same time, he operated several other companies. These included Lion Industries Ltd., a manufacturer of electric furnaces and boilers and other electric heating products. Before that, he taught for nine years in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Manitoba. Dr. Yuill's present research interests are in airflow and air infiltration in buildings, and in the computer simulation of building energy use. He is a fellow of the American Society of Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), and serves on the Research Administration Committee and on two technical committees.
