Graduate Programs:

Four graduate programs are offered in Architectural Engineering through the university.

  • Master of Engineering with focus in Architectural Engineering (MEng)

A professional practice-oriented advanced degree, geared towards the working professional. Intended primarily for graduates of engineering programs in fields other than architectural engineering who are now working in architectural engineering-related positions.

  • Master of Architectural Engineering (MAE)

Intended for students who have graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering (BSAE) from UNL. This professional degree is based on course work and design work, without a thesis.

  • Master of Science (M.S.) in Architectural Engineering

A research-based thesis degree, intended primarily for professional positions in building design and manufacturing firms where research skills are beneficial; or graduate study in a specialized field of architectural engineering at the doctoral level.

  • Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)

A field of specialization within the College of Engineering's doctoral degree program.

International Students

If you are an international student interested in the Architectural Engineering program, please review the following document: Intl_Orientation.pdf. This is a reference checklist for incoming international graduate students.

Please note: graduate students in our program are UNL students, but they attend the majority of their Architectural Engineering classes on the UNO campus. The degree received is from the University of Nebraska. The procedures in this checklist will help you understand the steps you must complete as an inter-campus international graduate student.
